The Paper Cult Collective is a Victoria-based 4 piece band blending traditional roots into an upbeat groovy live performance. Led by Benjamin Leclair, the Paper cult brings a style of traditional French Canadian music, seeped in the diverse and creative landscape of Victoria vibrant art scene.

Zoubi and the Sea classifies as alternative rock. The fans say that the sound has drifted “a little more punk rock” over the years. This extra grit could come from Zoubi's queer vocal changes or the band's multiple Scorpio members. Still, the heartfelt tones ring true, the lyrics are relatable, most songs are love songs, alternative rock with jazz chords, plus the band does an exceptional job at having fun on stage.
