We acknowledge and respect the W̱SÁNEĆ and lək̓ʷəŋən peoples on whose traditional territory we live on as uninvited guests. The Songhees, Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day, have stewarded this land since time immemorial. We owe this land, and these peoples, our respect, gratitude & dedication to learning & decolonizing ourselves & the spaces we exist in.
About the Artists:
Wedding (Toronto, ON):
Hailing from Kelowna, B.C., 23 year-old Walt Mudie seeks to express the ambiguity present in everyday life through melody, rhythm, & poetry in his releases as Wedding. Glacial electroacoustic textures fuse with sunbathed pop melodies, underlined by lyrics that tend to ask more questions than they answer. Mudie wears his eclectic influences proudly on his sleeve, juxtaposing Beach Boys-inspired melodies against production that refers to the geniuses of modern recording, such as Toro y Moi, Blake Mills, and Alex G.
His first proper release came in the form of 2024's Time Is Good, a guitar-heavy record largely steeped in indie rock tradition. 2025 sees a new chapter for Wedding, with the lush, tactile 7 songs for tree climbing. Its varied tracklist features addictive granular bedroom pop cuts ("hallway", "elsewhere", "worlds"), as well as more experimental moments touching on darker themes ("cinnamon", "in another life"). An increased focus on textural exploration during the album's production led to its diversified arrangements. Oddball sounds (modulating cellos, pitched trumpets, hand claps, hybrid car samples) frequently appear to join the more orthodox upright pianos and acoustic guitars in their quest for something higher.
Wedding will be playing across Canada in the summer of 2025 to support their release, bringing their loose and passionate live perfomances to stages in BC, Ontario, and Quebec.
Gabe Elias (Victoria, BC):
Gabe Elias is performing with his new six-piece band: The Many Moons, delivering a raw and nostalgic set of tunes that blend indie rock, alt-country, and 60s-inspired folk. It'll make you dance, cry, or maybe even both.
His debut album ‘Many Long Goodbyes’ lands on September 19th.
moms talk (Victoria, BC):
moms talk is a small collaborative project led by Evan Monroe that embraces the notion that no two performances will be the same. Songs written by Evan are passed through his friends and collaborators to layer texture and warmth into a simple but wide architecture.
