DJ spotlight: nhylar's love language is making playlists. the mixes once made for friends and long drives now come with a sound system. brand new to the decks and a lifetime into the digging, nhylar is rooted in south asia and roaming the global south, running retro bollywood disco into tamil kuthu, bolly house into baile funk, and jersey club edits into afro house. by day they help shape the vancouver international jazz festival. by night, asha bhosle shares a dancefloor with brazilian funk, and everybody gets along.
