Dawson Gool
Dawson Gool grew up under extremely normal circumstances. His parents met at the dental office they both worked at, settled down, and had 4 kids who loved playing in the woods when they weren’t biking around their neighbourhood. Nothing pushed Dawson towards music except for his unwavering curiosity, and free reign of his aunt's iTunes library filled with classic rock and bootlegs. After years of obsessing over Beatles songs, and moving to Boston to give Berklee College of Music a try—only to drop out—he decided to make Vancouver, Canada home. He has flourished there, combining his appreciation for Canadian stars, like Shania Twain and Neil Young, with his love for alternative artists like Arthur Russel and Grouper. Dawson’s second EP—Bark Mulch—will be released this year.
