Rust Owl

Rust Owl was an idea/project formed in grief of a deceased friend in 2017 out of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Songs written by Garrett Iverson (Guitar, Vocals) and Jory Strachan (Drums, Vocals) and backed up by Jensen Fridfinnson (Violin, piano, vocals) and Robert Reimer (Bass, vocals)

They called it at the time “Post Punk /Americana”

An offspring of a punk band called 1971 that originated in Kenora, Ontario.

Rust Owl (the band) was short-lived after a year of playing numerous shows, releasing 1 EP and a western tour; they disbanded and went their separate ways.

After a 7 year hiatus and the passing of Jory Strachan.

Garrett Iverson has now decided to rebirth the name Rust Owl as a moniker.

As a one man band + collective add in members along the way.

Performing Rust Owl and 1971 songs as well as new material for up coming album.

Calling it transcendental ghost folk / rock n roll
