Sweet Delirium
Sweet Delirium is a four-piece band from Victoria, British Columbia, fusing shoegaze, dreampop, post-punk, and R&B. Originally formed as a duo in 2017 by vocalist/lyricist Irene Paule and guitarist Tev Uslu, the project expanded in 2021 with the addition of drummer Liam St. John and bassist/producer Greg Bertato (Cubed1) in 2023.
Sweet Delirium crafts music that explores themes of escapism, nostalgia, and emotional disintegration. Their sound draws influence from Cocteau Twins, Radiohead, Slowdive, my bloody valentine, Joy Division, The Cure, Beach House, Men I Trust, Mazzy Star and Frank Ocean.
Following the duo’s acoustic demo Necessities, Sweet Delirium continued to develop original work. With the addition of Liam and Greg, the band solidified its presence in Victoria’s alternative music scene. After two years of performing and collaborating with celebrated local acts, Sweet Delirium has released their long-awaited debut album, Sweet Nothings—a dreamlike collection of songs culminating in this slow-burn record.
